Austin Smith

Mr. Smith joined Flight Lease in 2025, bringing deep expertise in valuation, financial modeling, and complex capital structures. Before joining Flight Lease, he served as a Senior Associate in the Valuation & Capital Markets group at BDO, where he led and supported more than 100 business and asset valuation engagements across M&A, financial reporting, tax, and litigation matters. In this role, he valued businesses, securities, and derivative instruments, and managed key valuation models utilized by over 200 professionals firmwide.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith worked in SEC Reporting at TopBuild Corp., a Fortune 1000 building products company, contributing to the company’s investor and regulatory reporting processes. He holds a Master of Science in Finance from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance from Stetson University, graduating magna cum laude.
